Maybe this is just me being a jerk but I would have asked "what are YOU doing about it?"

I've had the displeasure of listening to my instructor get asked those kinds of questions and have kept my mouth shut every time. But I wished I could straighten the parent out and tell them how little johnny is disruptive, talks back, ignores instructions, and wastes his and everyone else's time.

I was talking to my students last week about character. I asked them if they have had a parent say "it builds character". Hardly any of them had heard that expression. I remember Dad saying it all the time so I had to laugh when you wrote it.

I have the quote by Mark Twain that you have in your side bar hanging in my kitchen. I love that one too!

...but to your point, I'm a Ross/Crossfit guy myself.

Sometimes, coaches and instructors lose sight of the "snowflake" perspective and try to force a "one size fits all" approach matter-of-factly. Conversely, not every athlete/fighter is willing to put in the time to find out what works best for them...and are mildly surprised when they stall.

Yes, we just ate hallacas at Christmas time - my wife's parents came up from Venezuela to spend the holidays with us. I love hallacas! We still have a few left over in the fridge...

On this trip we passed through Valladolid Mexico - not too far away from Playa Del Carmen. It was a fantastic trip - lots of beautiful sites and things to do.
